Project Mahogany - ATN for the Environment

Help Save the Marikina Water Shed

ATN’s First Environmental Initiative as All Transport Network partakes on the ongoing campaign to preserve and protect the Philippines’ watershed, the first environmental initiative of ATN is scheduled in June 2011. Apart from “adopting-a-hectare,” the CEO, the Management Team, and the staff of ATN will do periodic hands-on tree planting activity under the Marikina Watershed Initiative Program. ATN will also invite and mobilize the Gawad Kalinga (GK) youth to join said activity.

Engaging the ATN team and the GK youth will help educate and solidify the environmental awareness of all the participants. Apart from the activities’ goal to educate the participants on how to value and be responsible for the environment, it also aims to make them realize how crucial it is to take part in the initiative programs and be able to contribute in reforesting the watershed. Realizing that the protection and preservation of the environment is a worthy cause, ATN has committed to plant hundreds, if not thousands, of native tree seedlings and fruit tree seedlings.

Also, the project will benefit the farmers, as it will provide a source of livelihood through the purchase of seedlings from them including the preparatory work, monitoring, and evaluation for three years. The Philippine Business for Social Progress shall help in organizing said CEO participation and employee volunteering activity of ATN. It will be a great opportunity to care for the environment and leave a legacy.
